Video Poker is played against the machine where the objective of the game is to obtain a five-card poker hand that contains at least a pair of Jacks or better or a better hand depending on the variation. The player places a bet and the video poker machine gives the player five cards. The player then chooses the cards to hold and the cards to discard. The machine replaces the discarded cards with new cards, leaving the player with the final hand. According to the rank of the hand the player wins or loses the hand. In Video Poker the ranking of the hand is the same as in table poker.

To place a wager the player clicks on the "bet" button to enter his bet. When the player uses the "bet" button the game will be player with one coin at a time. The player can also use the "bet max" button to immediately bet the maximum coins allowed for that game. When the player is ready to spin the reels, he may do so by clicking the "spin" button, or the player can use the auto play button. The player may wager as many coins as he prefers, up to the games maximum. Each slot machine has different symbols and pay tables. After winning, the machine highlights which symbols have won the game the amount won.
